4 Oct 2005 - Jack Petchey Awards Evening
All winners from the last year were invited to the special awards ceremony held at the Civic hall on Tuesday 4th October, where they all received official medallions.
Stella Lawson, who won this year's Leaders Award for TSC also received a medallion.
Jack Petchey Award Winners
January 2005
This swimmer put in an extraordinary performance in the final block of the essex Championships to gain valuable points for Thurrock. She excelled in her favourite strokes but also put in several terrific swims, particularly in the Backstroke to finish much higher than her allotted position.
The Jack Petchey Achievement Award for January 2005 goes to Robyn Turner.
February 2005
This person helps out wherever he is needed. He works on the sweet counter, acts as a runner for Sunday assessment sessions, he helps to get out and put away equipment, is a runner at galas and is willing to help out with any job he is asked to do.
The Jack Petchey Achievement Award for February 2005 goes to Oliver Nice.
March 2005
This swimmer produced the swim of her career to achieve a National Qualifying Time at the Essex Championships in March. She is a hard working swimmer who is a delight to teach with a lovely personality. She is honest, reliable and industrious as well as polite and well behaved.
The Jack Petchey Achievement Award for March 2005 goes to Molly Epsly.
April 2005
This swimmers dedication to the sport has been commendable and his training is good. His success in attaining the National Qualifying Time reflects his positive attitude.
The Jack Petchey Achievement Award for April 2005 goes to Charlie Hayes.
May 2005
This swimmer always tries her best at training and galas, but does not always get the results she deserves. She works hard and is a dedicated swimmer. This award must give her the encouragement she needs to persevere.
The Jack Petchey Achievement Award for May 2005 goes to Georgia Mould.
June 2005
This swimmer is a club member who attends regularly and works hard. She is the first person in the club to achieve her 100mile Swimfit Award.
The Jack Petchey Achievement Award for June 2005 goes to Anna Lawson.
July 2005
This month's award is for a swimmer who always works hard and has shown continued dedication over the past years. She is always pleasant and polite, and always has a smile on her face. She is one of the squad swimmers who is not afraid to try anything!
The Jack Petchey Achievement Award for July 2005 goes to Amy Hatfield
August 2005
This young lady joined our club from elsewhere in the county and has excelled to National level in a short space of time under the guidance of chief coach Alex Morgan. This year she achieved 5 National Qualifying times! She is a quiet and polite girl who has done everything asked of her in her time at the club and worked hard for her achievements.
The Jack Petchey Achievement Award for August 2005 goes to Kerriann Chipperfield.
September 2005
This swimmer is a regular member of our swim classes on a Friday night and epitomises the vast majority of the clubs membership. He is an eager, determined, friendly and well-mannered young man who just never gives up. He always tries his very best in everything he does and always has a smile on his face, whatever the outcome. He is a real and genuine pleasure to teach.
