The Gold and Silver squad members took part in the City of Cambridge Open where all swimmers accredited themselves well. Thurrock swimmers collected 3 gold medals; 10 year old Jodie Ward in the 50m Fly (42.13) 12 year old Georgia Mould in the 200m Freestyle (2.37.56) and Francesca Day aged 10 winning her 200m Freestyle event (2.39.40).
Other girls making the medal rostrum were Amy Hadfield (2nd place 12 years 100m Freestyle), Amy Beardwell Lacy (3rd place 9 years 200m Freestyle and Nathalie Swinnerton (3rd place 10 year 200m Individual medley).
The boys also made their mark with a silver medal for 9 year old Sonny Ford who is one of the clubs brightest young fly swimmers (50m 43.68 seconds) along with a bronze medal in backstroke for 9 year old Gareth Hawkins (42.00). Thomas Mangan took bronze in the 11 year 200m Freestyle (2.53.70) and Alex Brown completed the medal haul taking bronse int he 12 years 100m Breaststroke (1.39.59).
