Working at the Car Wash......

Nearly 40 swimmers from Thurrock Swimming Club gave up their time on Saturday 21st June to car wash at The Stifford Clays Infant School from to .

Swimmers aged from 9 through to 17 swapped their time in the water to splash around and wash cars in order to raise funds for the Club’s yearly team building event in September this year.   The Club takes nearly 100 club member swimmers to Stubbers Adventure Centre in Upminster from Friday tea time until Sunday tea time to participate in designated teams in a fun filled team building weekend.  Swimmers aged 11 and above stay overnight Friday and Saturday, with the younger swimmers 9 – 11 participating during Saturday.  The crescendo of the weekend is on Saturday night when the TSC helpers put on a massive BBQ and disco for 100 children.

The money raised from the car wash will go towards funding this weekend.  Thurrock Swimming Club donated part of the funds raised back to the school to thank them for the use of the car park and their water.

Hazel Day, Club Fundraiser said “it was good to see the children working hard out of the water, cleaning the cars, even if they finished up as wet as if they had been the pool!”.
