WELL DONE to all the Thurrock swimmer that swam at East - Youth over the May bank holiday weekend. It was great to watch some very strong swims, and to see you achieving pb's and some national qualifying times.

Well done to you all.

Could I please have the remaining community chest ticket stubs and money back please. There are still over 22 books out which totals £110. These books have already been paid for out of personal funds. If the books don't come back we will have to take the £110 out of the Italy Funds! If you can't sell your tickets please let me have them back I will endeavour to sell them.

Also could the Italian 32 please let me know if you are available for the bag packing at Asda on Saturday 23rd August. The more packers we have the better. Last year at Ikea we raised £500 with only 17 packers which was very good. Being a bank holiday weekend we could double that amount.

Thank you once again to all the adults and superbly behaved children who made the race night such a fantastic evening. We were proud and grateful for the way the members of the club entered into the spirit of the event, especially the younger members during their competitions. What a good night the race night was last night. I hope everyone else enjoyed it as much as I did. I would like to thank : Paul and Dawn Hawkins for organising the hall and ensuring the night ran smoothly, Paul for bravely working the mike for the evening, the tote sellers - Jeannette and Rebecca Hayes, Tim Sayer, Keith & Fran Day, Bev Neal, Karen and Charlotte Stephens. Thank you also to Emily Neal for contributing her £5 win on the children's horse race to the Italy Fund - very kind. Also Paul Head who contributed some of his winning on the "heads and tails" game - again to the Italy Fund. Also Jane Clarkin (who I work with) contributed £80 of her winnings on the last race - again to the Italy Fund.

A big thank you to all of the Italian Fund Raising Committee who are working so hard (all 5 of us) who made this evening a great success.

If I have missed anyone out - I apologise.

On an initial count up we made just over £500.

RACE NIGHT : Tickets are still on sale for the race night this Saturday. Also I still have 27 horses for sale at £2 each. If your horse wins a race you get a prize. I have the tickets on me all the time so just catch me to buy your tickets : Adults £3 and Children £1 each.

A huge well done to everyone who swam for the Thurrock team in this years Essex Championships. Whilst the result was never in doubt - you all gave 100% over the weekend, both in your swimming - and also your appearance as we were presented with the Albert Turner trophy for the 4th time in 5 years!
Well done to the entire organising Thurrock team who make the efficient running of these championships appear so effortless - which is actually far from the truth. Thank you to our wonderful caterers for some splendid food. (I take it upon myself to personally test every item - its a tough job , I know!).
And finally well done and congratulations also to Alex and the entire coaching and teaching team whose talent , enthusiasm and hard work keeps us at the number one position.

Hi all at TSC and A BIG THANK YOU for all your kind wishes.
I'm ok, just armless at the moment, but it is not going to stop me swimming. I will be back in training as soon as I can, its just going to take a bit of time, so for now I will be supporting all my team mates in their training, so I will be visiting on Wednesday evening and watching.
As you might of all heard by now that twin sister Danielle is also in plaster (she has to copy me). She has done her ankle in. Not sure if it is broken, but she has damaged her ankle growth plate. She is hopefully only going to be in plaster for 10 days (fingers crossed and I can do that).
I can't type at the moment so I have got my mum to type this for me. She has now got to do everything else for me as well, including feed me, clean me and well I do not want to mention the rest. So thank you all again. I'LL BE BACK SOON.

hey thank you so much for taking me to Italy i really enjoyed myself it was great to train in a 50 metres pool and it reallly helped my fitness come back after my injury thanks again kerriann.

Stubbers : What an excellent weekend the Club had at Stubbers this weekend. The camaraderie between the swimmers were ever evident. The whole weekend from start to finish was a great success. Here's to next year!!!

Hazel beat me to it but just wanted to say that it really was a terrific weekend. Swimmers - you are an awesome bunch of people - (especially day team 3 of course - the loudest and the best!). And what brilliant team leaders eh? All fuelled by some wonderful food from the kitchen! Well done to all , especially to John Mitchell who organised the entire weekend. We are always looking to make things even better next year so if you have any comments or suggestions - post them on this forum.

A big THANK YOU to everyone who gave up their time this weekend at Stubbers, without your efforts this would not have happened. It was a great success and great fun was had by all - even though I don't think there was much sleep had by anyone!!! WELL DONE

Saw Dave Harveys email to the club and how he set up this great club in 1962. Herbie Adams our first coach found a manuscript of a 10 year history of Thurrock swimming club, written by one of our finest swimmers Micky Porter. It traces our first 10 years from 1962-1972 and I have the copy! I will give it to Phil (when I find where I put it) and maybe we can give some copies out. There is some very interesting stuff in it for sure. But you know what my memory is like so please remind me!

Hi all, Firstly let me apologise for not contacting you all sooner but I am sure you will all appreciate my new job has been very demanding of late. As always I am thoroughly enjoying coaching swimmers to fulfill their potential and we are all very much looking forward to competing at the Surreys and during the remainder of the season. hi there. i used to swim for thurrock from age 9 to 15, now 20, at university and was delighted to see the club doing very well at the recent canterbury open gala, which is where i work part time and was life guarding the gala! (thats why i was giving the coach them funny smiles, but was too shy to say anything!!) its nice to see all the little ones enjoying the gala atmosphere, much like i remember myself doing! sam
